Surrey Divisions
Surrey Meats A cut above the rest
We have initiated various schemes whereby smallholders gain access to breeding stock, supplementary feeding and veterinary supplies. The Surrey beef abattoir was commissioned in 1996 and has the capacity to process 100 head of cattle per day. Surrey Meats has its own refrigerated delivery trucks to ensure food quality and safety on the move.
Sabie Meats A cut above the rest
Sabie Meats operates in the south eastern lowveld of Zimbabwe. Sabie’s primary business is cattle rearing, feedlotting and beef wholesaling. Sabie Meats is active in integrating and developing small scale cattle producers.

Surrey Huku The best dressed chicken in town
Our state-of-the-art processing facility and abattoir has enabled us to build Surrey Huku into a strong brand that consumers know and trust. As with all Surrey Group products, we adhere to the most stringent food hygiene regulations. We have achieved the internationally recognised FSSC 22000 food safety management certification. We carefully monitor the environmental impact of our operations to minimise our ecological footprint. Quality chicken products that won’t cost the earth – that’s the Surrey Huku promise.
Surrey Deli Delicious
Our freshly baked range of ready-to-eat products are available daily at selected Surrey outlets. Surrey also operates a meat-processing facility with the ability to add value throughout the supply chain.
We produce a variety of delicious value-added goods from samoosas to meat pies. Ready to enjoy, these products offer consumers a tasty and convenient alternative to preparing a meal from scratch.
Surrey Pecans Good health with pecans
Over the last 30 years the demand for pecans and pecan products has increased in line with growing global health awareness. Surrey has 50 hectares of established pecan orchards with the nuts being harvested annually between April and June. We have bulk drying facilities and a commercial pack house where product is processed to order. Shelled and unshelled nuts are sold both locally and internationally. Our commercial pecan nursery supplies 3-year old grafted trees. We endeavour to help make Zimbabwe a leading contributor to Southern African pecan production.
Associated business units
Balu Pecan
Surrey is involved with Balu Pecan and Livestock Company. Based in Matabeleland, 450 hectares of pecans have been planted and an additional 150 hectares of lucerne under pivot The pecan project is supported with cattle and lucerne enterprises.
Msasa Meats
Our associated business, Msasa Meats produces cooked and smoked ready-to-eat chicken and beef products including polony, russians, sausages and salamis. These are marketed under the Msasa Meats brand.
Khulu Abattoir
Sekuru Protein is a property-owning business and has an abattoir situated in Jotsholo. Surrey Group beef supplies are supported by this abattoir.
Super Breeze
Super Breeze provides our specialised long-haul refrigerated transport.
